How Virtucom Group Helped a Boutique Content Agency Get through the Holidays

Content marketing partners shaking hands agreeing upon work to be done

Case Study: January 2024

The holiday season comes at both the best and worst time of year for content marketing agencies. On one hand, it’s a race toward meeting end-of-year content creation deadlines and keeping clients satisfied. On the other hand, business in Corporate America generally slows, with many employees and clients taking vacation time – although this was far from the case for one of our clients in December 2023.

Virtucom Group is based in Syracuse, New York, and serves Fortune 500 retailers and content marketing agencies across North America. In this case study, we summarize how we helped a small agency fulfill its content needs, making the holidays extra merry and bright.

The Problem

This agency, which cannot be named due to confidentiality agreements, approached Virtucom Group in the early days of December 2023. Its internal writing and editing teams were falling behind on the content orders needing fulfillment, and the agency feared it was in jeopardy of missing pertinent deadlines. The agency needed help turning around nearly 30 content orders, which were due to clients before the end of the month. Specifically, 10 orders were due by 12/19, with the rest due by 12/26.

To complicate matters, the content orders all featured complex medical topics. Knowing of our ability to craft thoroughly researched content for any industry, the agency felt confident leaving these orders in our trusted hands.

The Solution

Upon receiving our client’s request, Virtucom Group sprung into action, designating specific writers and editors to the agency’s account. First, the lead editor reviewed all writing materials and instructions, letting the agency know if we needed additional information or clarification about the provided topics. The account manager then assigned pieces to be written by specific employees, who had written content for this agency earlier in our partnership.

After the pieces were written, they entered Virtucom Group’s editorial phase. The lead editor deployed our time-tested quality assurance practices, ensuring the content included the following:

After the editorial phase, the account manager gave each piece a final proof. As the content became ready, the account manager delivered orders piecemeal so the agency could have them as soon as possible. The account manager is now on standby in case any content revisions or additional new orders are needed.

The Results

Thanks to the finesse and knowledge of the Virtucom Group content marketing team, we were able to complete the majority of the orders ahead of the aforementioned deadlines. For our client, this meant several positive outcomes. For one, its internal strain was significantly reduced, as Virtucom Group took a tremendous weight off the agency’s shoulders. But perhaps more importantly, the agency’s clients were extremely satisfied with the high-quality content we produced. The agency is extremely grateful for our partnership, and we’re looking forward to helping them complete more content requests in 2024 and beyond.
